Max Mirnov is an award-winning artist with international recognition in the art and creative industry. Lives and works in Miami, USA.

From 2023 to 2025 he lived and worked in Japan, participating in exhibitions in Tokyo and Nagoya.
In 2019 he received the international Grand Prix in the field of product design in Japan at the JAPAN DESIGN WEEK competition. The victory was won in a serious competition among 1200 participants consisting of professional design studios from all over the world.

In 2023, following an International Grand Prix and the institutional recognition of his contribution to the contemporary aesthetic landscape, Mirnov was granted a long-term (5-year) residency in Japan. This status has enabled him to continue his creative practice in Tokyo and Nagoya, where his works have been featured in major exhibitions and have integrated into the region’s professional discourse.

Participant of the project at the Venice Biennale, exhibited in the USA, Belgium, UAE, Great Britain, Japan and other countries.
He entered the TOP 20 best Ukrainian artists under the age of 35 at the Young Artists of Ukraine (YUA) competition.

Since 2020, he has been creating the style and image of the Ukrainian music award A Prize. The sculpture created by him became the prototype of the statuette of the national award and is exclusively made by Max for the award every year by hand, which increases the value of the prize. For the A Prize, his participation is honored, Max Mirnov presents awards to Ukrainian stars personally on the stage.

Max Mirnov is the founder and main jury member of the MART PRIZE. Awarded for the best design of a music album created by Ukrainian artists.

His practice operates at the intersection of contemporary art, architecture, design, and technology, utilizing conceptual frameworks to address urgent global shifts. By navigating the complexities of biodiversity, ecological integrity, and social transformation, he redefines the viewer’s relationship with the environment. In his work, the core concept dictates the form, whether it manifests as a museum installation or a sophisticated spatial design, ensuring a profound dialogue between artistic vision and planetary ethics.

With a strong academic foundation in painting, drawing, and a wide range of artistic techniques: 6 years of study at the National Academy of Art (Master’s Degree in Graphic Art) and 5 years at the Institute of Decorative Arts and Design (Bachelor’s Degree in Design), graduating with honors.

Artist Statement

Max Mirnov is a conceptual contemporary artist whose practice investigates the psychological, ecological, and cultural tensions shaping contemporary life. His works examine how consumption, biodiversity loss, displacement, and systems of overproduction influence human perception and emotional resilience.
Working across installation, sculptural forms, transformed materials, and time-based conceptual structures, Mirnov creates environments that challenge viewers to confront the fragile balance between the natural world and the constructed systems that define modern existence. His visual language often incorporates numerical or textual codes — subtle markers of time, adaptation, or ecological fragility — turning personal experience into spatial and conceptual architecture.
Mirnov’s practice draws on a deep sensitivity to material transformation: everyday objects are reconfigured into symbolic structures that question value, function, and the ethics of contemporary living. Rather than persuading or illustrating, his works create spaces for critical reflection — moments where habitual perception slows and new forms of awareness emerge.

With ancestral roots in the same Carpathian region as the Warhola family, Mirnov grew up acutely aware of how visual language forms identity, myth, and collective imagination. This cultural lineage informs his interest in the tension between mass culture and individual perception.
Mirnov’s practice ultimately invites viewers to slow down, question the familiar, and recognize the fragile space where consumption ends and contemplation begins.
