Beyond the Surface

Beyond the Surface

In the world of contemporary art, the artist has redefined the iceberg metaphor. Traditionally, an iceberg is seen only as its tip, a frozen peak above the ocean. Max Mir, however, creates a transparent sculpture that reveals the hidden depths beneath. Each handcrafted stone, with silver and gold accents, is encased in glass, reminiscent of amber preserving ancient wonders. This sculpture is more than an artwork; it’s a profound exploration of what lies beneath the surface, a tribute to hidden beauty and complexity.

A-Prize Music Award

This innovative sculpture soon captured the attention of a major music prize. Recognizing its symbolic depth, the prize asks to adopt it as the central trophy for their prestigious award.

Since 2020, Max Mir has been responsible for the complete visual identity of the Ukrainian “Grammy”: the A-Prize Music Awards. He created the official award symbol based on his original sculpture, developed the conceptual advertising campaigns, and designed the stage, large-scale venue façades, and 20-meter banners — all unified under a single artistic style.
Every year, he personally handcrafts the award statuettes using a proprietary technique, which adds uniqueness and value to the prize.
Max is also invited on stage to present the main award together with leading Ukrainian stars to the new laureates.

It is not just a beautiful artwork, but an award that carries an idea and philosophy. After all, the triumph of the winners is only the tip of the iceberg, which is visible to everyone, and under it is hidden a huge work of people who have spent a lot of effort, time and energy. They are the foundation that raises the artist to the greatest height.
